This Privacy Policy describes how Athena Global School ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in the Athena Employee App ("the App"), available to Athena Global School employees only.

1. Who Can Use This App

The Athena Employee App is strictly for use by current employees of Athena Global School across our campuses in Chidambaram, Chengalpattu, and Chennai. Access requires a valid employee ID and OTP verification via registered email.

2. Information We Collect

• Employee ID and registered phone number — used for identity verification during login
• Email address — used to send OTP for secure login
• Attendance and biometric data — your check-in/check-out times fetched from school biometric systems
• Leave and payroll information — your leave balances, applications, and payslip details
• Device information — device name stored optionally for trusted-device login
• Firebase Cloud Messaging token — used to send push notifications about announcements

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you securely via OTP
• To display your attendance, leave, payslip, and HR information
• To process your leave, loan, permission, and helpdesk requests
• To send push notifications about school announcements
• To track punctuality and generate reports for HR purposes

4. Data Storage and Security

All employee data is stored securely in our database hosted on Supabase (supabase.co) with encryption at rest and in transit. Session tokens are stored locally on your device and expire automatically after 8 hours. We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party.

5. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect location data
• We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone
• We do not use advertising SDKs or analytics trackers

6. Data Retention

Your employment data is retained as long as you are an active employee of Athena Global School. Upon termination of employment, your access is revoked. HR records may be retained as required by applicable Indian labour laws.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting your HR department or IT administrator. Requests will be processed within 7 working days.

8. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — database and authentication backend (supabase.com/privacy)
• Firebase (Google) — push notification delivery (firebase.google.com/support/privacy)

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
