Enrichment Program

Some students struggle to keep up in class. Other students have the opposite challenge. For some students, classroom learning moves through material too fast, causing a lack of attention and difficulty apply themselves in class.

For those who need a bit more of assistance in learning, enrichment tutoring programs can be the key to getting back on track.

An enrichment program is a specialized tutoring program for students who need to learn at little extra than in a typical classroom. It allows students who need an extra care in the classroom to stay engaged and interested in learning. These programs focus on specific subject areas students where they find difficulty in learning in and allow them to work at a level that feels most comfortable for them.

With Athena Enrichment Program, students first complete a dynamic assessment that gives the teachers team an in-depth picture of their academic level. With this information, the team creates a customized tutoring program that allows your child to progress at his or her own pace.

Enrichment programs are meant for students who have difficulty in understanding class content and, as a result, feel bored at school. These students often need more advanced assistance to feel excited about (and engaged with) learning.

Characteristics of a student who would benefit from an enrichment program:

• Has a hard time maintaining attention
• Takes more time to understand concepts than the rest of the class
• Seems uninterested during lessons
• Does not seem excited about school
• Routinely achieves low grades
• Not understands the material but receives higher grades

HOW DO WE IMPLEMENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME?

1. It is a free of cost programme
2. Beginning of the academic year first midterm examination performance is taken as basis for enrolling students for this programme.
3. Parents request for enrollment is also accepted
4. Enrichment teaching programme is allotting one day for each subject
5. For Primary classes, the enrichment programme administered in the ‘Zero hour’ i.e., 8.45 AM to 9.30 AM on weekdays
   • a. Monday : English
   • b. Tuesday : Maths
   • c. Wednesday : Science
   • d. Thursday : Social Science
   • e. Friday : Second Language (Tamil or Hindi)
6. For Secondary students’ classes will be conducted from 4.20 PM to 6.00 PM
7. The performance of the students is recorded in separate file which contains student’s attendance for enrichment classes, answer sheets of the enrichment kids and the copies of the mark sheets. This will be shown to the parents during the Individual Parent Teachers meeting (IPTM) and acknowledgements will be obtained from the parents
8. Individual parents’ teachers meeting (IPTM) for the enrichment programme students will be conducted one day advance than the regular IPTM to allot more time to the parents who are attending enrichment programme at school
